The southern tip, is a place of pounding rollers, howling winds and a storm-lashed coastline, that has claimed many ships down the centuries. The cape of good hope nature reserve covers 7700 ha of coastal scrubland and incorporates some 40 km coastline. A funicular service ferries visitors to the summit of cape point and to its old lighthouse, built in 1860. Far below is the powerful modern lighthouse, which may be reached via a steep zigzag path. the cape-point is also known as the meeting place of the cold Benguela from the Atlantic ocean and the warm Agulhas or Mozambique current from the Indian ocean.

    Kalk Bay is a fishing village on the coast of False Bay, It lies between the ocean and sharply rising mountainous heights that are buttressed by crags of grey Table Mountain Sandstone. Kalkbaai (Lime Bay), this derives from the vast deposits of mussel shells found here, which early settlers burned to make lime for construction. Lime kilns to roast mussel shells are still found along the West coast. The railway from the central business district of Cape Town to Simon's Town passes through Kalk Bay and in some places the line is only meters from the water's edge. The town is also renowned for the more than 80 sandstone caves that honeycomb the backing hills.
  • Muizenberg, Muizenberg, South Africa
    Muizenberg has a fine, long beach that in effect stretches all the way round the top of False Bay to the Strand, a distance of over 20 km. It is considered to be the main surfing spot in Cape Town and is currently home to a surfing community, centered on the popular Surfer's Corner. False Bay, known for its population of White Sharks, also has a shark watch service that operates from Muizenberg, signaling alerts when sharks come in proximity of bathers at the main beach and surfers at Surfer's Corner. Above Muizenberg there is a line of steep cliffs that is very popular as a venue for rock climbing. However, certain parts of the cliff are off-limits to climbers when birds nest on the ledges.

Super excursion, les paysages sont à couper le souffle, nous avons vu des zèbres, autruche, elan, otaries sans oublier les pingouins. Albert, notre guide était au top, en plus il parlait Français, il nous a parlé de l'histoire du pays, nous a appris des choses au sujet de la végétation, des animaux...en plus d'être une sorties très belle, elle fut aussi enrichissante grâce à notre guide. Je recommande vivement !!!

… unser tourguide, Armand, war der beste den wir je gehabt haben! Sehr humorvoll und zeitgleich informativ! Er hat alles gut erklärt und die mitfahrenden mit einbezogen. Es war zu keiner Zeit langweilig oder uninteressant. Er hat uns zu allen fragen immer alles beantworten können und sich wie ein großer „Bruder“ um uns gekümmert. Wir haben viel gelacht und uns gegenseitig „veräppelt“ . Es war eine tolle Tour mit ihm die wir nicht vergessen werden. Wenn ihr die Möglichkeit habt ihn als Guide zu bekommen, dann solltet ihr ihn schnellstmöglich buchen! Vielen herzlichen Dank nochmals von mir , stefan, Bärbel und „Alexa! Armand, bleib wie du bist „Bruder“ oder ich sag’s deiner Mutter! ????????
